Terms of Service

CertTwin produces a translation draft for you to review. It is not a certified translation. No receiving authority is obliged to accept it, and whether to have a translator certify the reviewed text is your decision. Every document is processed and shown to you first, watermarked; paying removes the watermark. Removing it does not make the document a certified translation — it remains a draft you are responsible for checking. CertTwin is operated by Mitta Labs, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, and these terms are an agreement between you and that company — "we" and "us" below mean Mitta Labs, LLC.

1. What the service does

You upload a document; CertTwin extracts it, translates it, rebuilds the layout, runs nine quality checks, and presents the source and the translation side by side for you to correct and approve. Nothing is final until you approve it. Automated checks reduce errors; they do not eliminate them, and they are not a substitute for your review.

2. Your document, your responsibility

By uploading a document you confirm that you are entitled to do so — it is yours, or you have permission from the person it concerns. You must not use CertTwin to create, alter or assist in creating any document intended to deceive, including forged or falsified official records. We will withdraw access for this without notice.

3. Access

Anyone with a verified email address may create an account: sign in with Google, or with a one-time link sent to your address. There is no approval step. We may refuse or withdraw access where an account is used to break these terms or the law.

4. Price

US$1.00 per page. A page means one page of a PDF, or one image file. Pages are counted from your file before anything is processed, so you see what a document costs before you pay for it. You pay by buying page credit — in advance, or for one document as you submit it — and every payment is one you start yourself: nothing is ever charged in the background. Payment is handled by Stripe, and the methods available to you are the ones shown on Stripe's payment page at the time you pay. If a job fails, its pages return to your balance automatically.

Creating an account is free and costs nothing until you choose to pay. Page credit is only ever bought by you, in a payment you start. If the price changes we will email you first, and a change never applies to credit you already hold.

5. Limits

• Up to 20 pages per job, and 50 MB per file.
• PDF, PNG and JPG only.
• Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese, in any direction. Chinese ⇄ English has had the most testing.
• Daily processing limits apply per account to control cost. If you reach one, it resets the next day.

6. Refunds

A job that fails returns its pages to your balance automatically — you do not have to ask. If a translation is delivered but is unusable because of a defect on our side, tell us within 14 days and we will refund that job in full to your original payment method. Unused page credit is refundable on request. Because the output is a draft you review, dissatisfaction with a wording choice you can edit yourself is not a defect.

7. Availability

This is a closed test. There is no uptime commitment, and we may change or suspend the service. Keep your own copy of every source document — do not rely on CertTwin as storage, particularly given the deletion schedule in the Privacy Policy.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, CertTwin is provided as-is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including a document being refused by any authority, or a deadline being missed. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the job concerned. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the courts of Delaware have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of any mandatory law of the country where you live, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your local courts where that law gives you the right to.

10. Changes and contact
